Kendra Jernigan on Plea for Forgiveness & Reconciliation
9:59 pm, 10.01.09
Wow, what an awesome example of God’s power to change lives. God’s wisdom is not the world’s wisdom and His ways are not our ways.
It comforts me greatly to know that God is there working around the globe through many different people and situations. It is amazing that God is willing to support his people with His immense strength and put up with our weaknesses.
It is rare, but wonderfully refreshing to see someone take responsibility not for something he necessarily did, but what his people or community did. I am reminded of a movie called “Lord Save Us From Your Followers.” It is a documentary about the church in America and how people respond to it. There is one particular scene where the host goes to a gay pride fair and opens a confession booth. Instead of having people confess in the booth, he himself apologizes for all the harm that the church has done.
Here is a link to a youtube video that has scenes from the movie, if anyone is interested.

It takes great courage and humility to take responsibility not only for oneself, but for others too.
