Howard Schatz: an ophthalmologist who after a successful academic life as a retina specialist, turns his hobby into a very prominent career. One of my favorite commercial photographers these days. Very creative and always pushing his imagination beyond the expected.

I had the chance to look through Schatz’s portfolio, and he is a very diverse photographer. He seems to have done everything. I especially enjoyed the comical photo shoot he did for Vanity Fair, where he gave the actors and actresses different scenarios and asked them to create the face that displays that scenario. What a neat job Schatz has to photograph so many talented people.

i agree with Micheal. the shoot with all of the different facial expressions was wonderful! I partially used that concept on project 2 for my magazine environmental shots! I also really love the muscle and skin shots, like the one above. He makes something so common that everybody has look almost alien because of lighting and contrast.
