It’s been slow getting the A&E Alumni and Friends group going.  But it is going.  Dr. Brokaw is working with Advancement to send a letter out to all alumni.  But since that’s part of the slow going, we thought we’d post it here as well.  We know our alumni include a lot of great people doing good and interesting work.  We really want to see this group grow and prosper.  So please consider joining and talking to other alumni and friends about joining.

Here is the letter.

Dear ACU Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Exes and Friends:

Throughout the history of the ACU Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, the dedicated support of our exes and friends has been a tremendous blessing.  That support has been instrumental in the development of our programs and our ability to continue to provide excellent learning and skill development for the outstanding students enrolled in the program. As always, we covet your continued prayers for the efforts of the faculty and students involved in the department.

Many of you responded positively to questions on our recent survey asking whether you would be willing to participate in an A&E Alumni and Friends Association that would provide a more consistent and formal relationship between the department and our exes and friends.  We have explored options for creating such a group and are now prepared to establish the organization.  Once established the group will select members to form a governing board to guide the operation and activities of the organization.  We would anticipate they would help set membership fees, benefits and activities that would be associated with membership in the organization. If you would be willing to participate on that governing board, please respond as indicated below.

This is your invitation to become a charter member of the ACU Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Alumni and Friends.   We look forward to having many of you join us in this endeavor to enhance the efforts of the department to train young men and women for Christian service and leadership throughout the world in the field of agriculture and environmental science.

We will be announcing the formation of this group at the Annual Homecoming BBQ and Awards Ceremony.   You can join at that event or by completing the form below.  Hope to see you there.
