Happy Happy Happy Homecoming!

The A&E Department brought home the gold in this year’s homecoming parade winning first place in the non-social club division. The overarching theme of this year’s homecoming festivities was the ACU Dynasty. From there the bright minds in our department came up with the idea to theme our float after one of the hottest (and hairiest) topics in pop culture today: Duck Dynasty. Kayla Hanning, a Freshman Animal Science major, is credited with coming up with this brilliant idea. Kayla said when she heard of the ACU Dynasty theme she thought “Who better to do Duck Dynasty than Ag?” Kayla watches the show almost every week and her favorite character is Mrs. Kay. More »

A New Year for the Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Club

Along with the new school year comes new officers for the Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Club (or AES Club). This year’s officers are President Will Morales, a junior Wildlife Management and Livestock Production major from Rotan, Texas, Vice President Bryce Gerlach, a senior Environmental Science major from Far Hills, New Jersey, and Chaplin Cade Deines, a Communications major from Cypress, Texas. Internship Program

If you are a sophomore, junior, or senior majoring in IPM, Entomology, soil and crop sciences, plant pathology, or a related field you may be eligible to be one of Texas IPM’s summer interns.  You could earn an hourly wage plus a $1000 training stipend.  The internship also includes housing and travel expenses.  There are urban agriculture positions available.  Contact Mandy Scudder at scudderm@acu.edu for more information or visit http://ipm.tamu.edu/internships.
