A&E Alum Helping with Philippines Disaster Relief
In November, Alex Wann, a 2010 graduate of ACU’s A&E Department, was called to help with disaster relief after super typhoon Yolando hit the Philippines. Wann has been working with Samaritan’s Purse in Bolivia with water quality.
Wann worked at the Samaritan’s Purse base in Tacloban City, which was hit very hard by the storm. His work included water, sanitation and hygiene, but focused on sanitation. Wann said “these kinds of interventions are critical in the aftermath of such a disaster to prevent the spread of disease.” Wann said the work would be intense and communication would be scarce, but he was excited to see what God would do through this situation.
