Art Event Credits

All art and design majors must acquire 6 art/design event credits every fall and spring semester for a total of 12. Please print and fill out the PDF on the blog at http://blogs.acu.edu/artanddesign/art-event-credits/ and give to Arlene Kasselman before student reviews or earlier to store in your file.

This policy is somewhat akin to the Music Department’s rehearsal credit policy. These events may include, but are not limited to: gallery openings, events in the Center for Contemporary Arts downtown, lectures given by visiting artists or special event guest speakers, Art & Design Chapel (2 credits per semester maximum), professional Chapter meetings (such as ASID or AIA), field trips to market/or businesses in the students field of study, galleries and museums you might visit while home or in a different city. Abilene has an Art Walk on the 2nd Thursday of each month and most of the galleries and museums are open and free.

All art and design majors are required to attend all student show openings. Presentations and lectures by visiting interior designers, architects and artists will also be required of all majors unless announced otherwise.

If you would like further information about this or are confused by Art Event Credits, please see Arlene.

Art & Design Chapel – THIS Thursday!

We will meet on Thursday, September 4th at 11am in Room 141. Our theme this semester is “Shift – moments of insight.” We will hear from a different faculty member each week of the semester. Be sure and join other Art & Design students for this experience. You will sign your name and banner ID on a chapel sign in sheet at Departmental Chapel because there are no card readers.

Show Opening THIS Friday – Until Now

Ginna Sadler, Art Professor here in our department, will be hosting a show, Until Now, in Shore Gallery from 9/5-10/3. Attend the opening reception this Friday, September 5th at 5pm and earn an Art Event Credit when you write up your response to her show. This show will highlight work from throughout her career.
