We finished up Development Cycle 40 last week, which spans March 4th through March 22nd.  Here are some of the highlights for this cycle:

  • Cognos – We continue to work with Infolink Consulting to set up Cognos BI and Cognos TM1.  Financial Operations has been tasked with verifying the work done thus far as we work to make further headway.
  • Blogs Update – The production update was completed on Tuesday, March 12th with no major issue.
  • OpenClass – Work continues as the campus prepares for the migration from Blackboard to Pearson’s OpenClass.  This project will automate the creation of new courses and management of enrollment in OpenClass – we are finishing up final changes and testing this week.  Additionally, we have been supporting the Adams Center and Pearson as we identify the Blackboard courses that need to be converted to OpenClass.
  • NCAA Compliance Assistant integration – Work continues on the project to automate the push of student athlete data from Banner into the NCAA Compliance Assistant system.  The first phase of this project will provide degree progress data to the system, which will save lots of time spent manually entering this data.
  • Fire Engine Red graduate admissions application – We are working with Graduate Enrollment Marketing to prepare for their admissions application move to Fire Engine Red (FER).  Our work revolves around planning and implementation of the data import processes that will push data from FER to Talisma.
  • In all, 49 development issues were completed during this development cycle in addition to the on-going projects mentioned above.

We finished up Development Cycle 39 last week, which spans February 11th through March 1st.  Here are some of the highlights for this cycle:

  • Cognos – We continue to work with Infolink Consulting to set up Cognos BI and Cognos TM1.  Financial Operations has been tasked with verifying the work done thus far as we work to make further headway.
  • Blogs Update – Final testing of the WordPress 3.5.1 update in test has been completed.  We have scheduled the production update for Tuesday, March 12th at 5 a.m.
  • OpenClass – Work continues as the campus prepares for the migration from Blackboard to Pearson’s OpenClass.  We had to make some programming changes due to changes in the OpenClass API, but hope to enable this functionality soon.  This project will automate the creation of new courses and management of enrollment in OpenClass.  Additionally, we have been supporting the Adams Center and Pearson as we identify the Blackboard courses that need to be converted to OpenClass.
  • NCAA Compliance Assistant integration – We have started work to automate the push of student athlete data from Banner into the NCAA Compliance Assistant system.  The first phase of this project will provide degree progress data to the system, which will save lots of time spent manually entering this data.
  • LDAP to Active Directory – IT is migrating from LDAP to Active Directory, which affects multiple applications that use authentication, groups, roles and user attributes.  This is a major effort that will require preparation over the next few months with an anticipated completion date in August.
  • Fire Engine Red graduate admissions application – We are working with Graduate Enrollment Marketing to prepare for their admissions application move to Fire Engine Red (FER).  Our work revolves around planning and implementation of the data import processes that will push data from FER to Talisma.
  • In all, 48 development issues were completed during this development cycle in addition to the on-going projects mentioned above.
