We finished up Development Cycle 41 last week, which spans March 25th through April 12th.  Here are some of the highlights for this cycle:

  • Cognos BI and TM1 – Phase 1 of the implementation with Infolink Consulting was completed last week.  We are now in the planning stage of phase 2 and are waiting on Financial Operations to decide when to proceed.
  • Teacher Evaluations – We implemented some improvements to the Teacher Evaluation process that is managed through Google Forms and Google Spreadsheets.  The changes will improve the management of the evaluation forms and data, which should help save a considerable amount of time.
  • OpenClass – Work continues as the campus prepares for the migration from Blackboard to Pearson’s OpenClass.  This project will automate the creation of new courses and management of enrollment in OpenClass.  We plan to run these jobs in production later this week.  Additionally, we have been supporting the Adams Center and Pearson as we identify the Blackboard courses that need to be converted to OpenClass.
  • NCAA Compliance Assistant integration – We are finishing up the first phase of this project, which will provide degree progress data to the system.  We are currently validating data in preparation for a first run after the conclusion of the Spring 2013 term.
  • Fire Engine Red graduate admissions application – We are working with Graduate Enrollment Marketing to prepare for their admissions application move to Fire Engine Red (FER).  Our work revolves around planning and implementation of the data import processes that will push data from FER to Talisma.
  • myACU and m.acu.edu – We are working with a student-led project group in Dr. Brad Crisp’s Analysis and Design class to identify enhancements and changes we might consider for the Fall 2013 term and beyond.  The students will present their preliminary findings later this week followed by a final report in early May.
  • Meal Plan administration – We are in the early stages of work to implement a few changes in time for the first Fall 2013 bill to be sent out in June.
  • In all, 49 development issues were completed during this development cycle in addition to the on-going projects mentioned above.
