The ACU Foundation

by

The ACU Foundation is an arm of the Advancement Division of Abilene Christian University.  We help donors leave a legacy and a lasting impact on future generations, both at the University and within the donor’s own family.  We accomplish this primarily in three ways:

1) We work with donors who want to include Abilene Christian University in their wills and other estate planning documents, including life insurance policies and retirement accounts.

2) We advise donors on ways to reduce current and future income and estate taxes, increase current and future streams of income, and how donors can pass along their values as well as their valuables to future generations.  Being an institute of Christian higher education, as well as a private non-profit organization, our advice and proposed solutions tend towards charitable estate planning options but are not solely in that realm.

3) We work with donors and their advisers on comprehensive financial and estate plans that will benefit the donor, the donor’s family, the donor’s descendants (if applicable), and the donor’s preferred charities (hopefully, but not necessarily or exclusively, including ACU).

We do not charge anything for our services.  All consultations with donors and potential donors are confidential and without obligation in any form.

In addition to this blog, we maintain a website, two weekly email newsletters (GiftLegacy for donors and GiftLaw for professional advisors), and a tri-annual print newsletter called Legacy.  We also are available for workshops and presentations about charitable gift planning, estate planning, legacy planning, and related topics.
