Here’s a chance to work on an exciting big event with name recognition. The Valero Alamo Bowl, a nonprofit organization that produces an annual post-season college football bowl game in San Antonio, is looking for a public relations/sports information intern and an event planning/operations intern. This is a paid ($7.25 per hour plus overtime pay if over 40 hours per week) internship that runs for six months, from July 19, 2012, through Jan. 31, 2013. Interns must be available to work full time, including weekends and holidays as needed.
The PR/sports information intern will write news releases, set up press conferences, maintain clip files, provide content for the bowl’s website and weekly e-newsletter, manage social media efforts and perform other duties.
The events/operations intern will assist with a variety of fundraising and other events leading up to the bowl game, including golf functions, luncheons, and sponsor and pregame parties. This intern also will manage the bowl’s community relations activities and assist with corporate, VIP and team hospitality venues.
Interested students should send a letter of interest, resume and three work-related references prior to March 16 to:
