CRU, a Texas-based company that designs and markets luxurious collections of dinnerware and links their sales to charitable causes that can help change the world, is looking for summer 2012 interns, or as CRU prefers to call them, “Ambassadors of Change.”
Run by ACU alum Darbie Angell, CRU is working on projects for Disney and other name companies. Its dinnerware is sold at prominent stores including Macy’s, Bed Bath & Beyond and Dillards. Proceeds have been used for projects ranging from building an orphanage in Haiti to helping fight pediatric cancer.
Interns (Ambassadors) will work from CRU’s offices in Georgetown, Texas (near Austin) and will gain experience in event planning, online marketing, retail marketing, social media and networking. Previous interns have often traveled with the company on projects, including trips to New York City. Students should be upcoming juniors or seniors to apply.
Can’t go to Georgetown for a formal internship? Opportunities also exist for students who want to work remotely with CRU. Even though working remotely won’t count as your for-credit JMC internship, it can provide excellent experience for your resume and professional work samples for your portfolio.
