Please join us as Brown Library partners with the Department of Language and Literature this Fall to bring you Story Shorts – a series short story readings, Poetry Slam – performances by poetry workshop students, and Cover2Cover – a marathon-style reading.

Story Shorts – First Thursday of the month | September 6th, October 4th, November 1st, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. | Reading Commons

Story Shorts is a series of monthly readings. Stop by the Reading Commons to listen and read along as faculty and students read their favorite short stories.

Poetry Slam – September 25, 7:30 p.m. | Atrium

Beat it!…to the annual Eng. 323:  Slam Poetry event and open mic night with a special tribute to Michael Jackson.  The one and only King of Pop would have turned sixty (!) on August 30 and we want to honor how his style, his music, and his tender love for the innocent and vulnerable lives on.  Listen to some great spoken word pieces by Professor Haley’s student poets, bring your own stuff to “spit” at the mic, and enjoy some classic tunes.  And you may get to see Dr. Moore do his Billy Jean best.

Cover2Cover – October 31, 10:00 a.m. | Reading Commons

You’ll enjoy readings from faculty, students and special guests.  Stop by the Reading Commons, listen, and grab some candy in the library on Halloween!
