“Research that isn’t shared with others has little value, so having an opportunity for our students to communicate the findings from research they’ve been conducting all year is quite important,” says Dr. Autumn Sutherlin, director of undergraduate research and associate professor of chemistry/biochemistry. “Our festival allows others to see the exciting things going on in research here on a wide variety of topics.”

The festival highlighted the impressive efforts of many students who participate in real-world, hands-on research across multiple disciplines. Students work with faculty members on research projects, often earning publication in scholarly journals and gaining experience prized by employers and graduate schools.

Congratulations Sarah and Mathew!
