Starting September 1, ACU undergraduate researchers and mentors will have access to the Student Opportunities Center (S.O.C.).
The S.O.C. is a platform which connects students to over 10,000 student conferences, journals, new and prestigious experiential learning opportunities (scholarship, fellowship, community/civic engagement), and undergraduate research opportunities.

“Blogging Ferguson in Black and White” The Journal of New Media and Culture. Doug Mendenhall and 47 undergraduate that were enrolled in Media Issues, the introductory course within the ACU Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. The students were supervised by Jessica Clark.
Nine articles published with ACU undergraduates published by faculty and students from the Nuclear Physics Group in Physical Review C and D in the last year. Social work major Jennifer Carpenter’s paper “Factors Influencing College Attendance in Adopted Children” was selected to be published in the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) Proceedings, 2013. Jennifer’s mentor is Dr. Stephen Baldridge.
Blaine Smith (’13) and mentor Dr. Dan Brannan had their article “A Christian basis for environmentalism” published in the European Journal of Science and Theology 9(5): 167-178. Blaine is now a medical student at the University of Texas Houston Medical School.
Congratulations to undergraduate researcher Ashley Truong and her mentor Malcolm Coco, Jr. for their recently published article in the International Journal of Education Research Volume 8 Number 1, Fall 2013 issue. The article is entitled ” Student and Company Reactions to a University Internship Program: Content Analysis.”
