{"id":268,"date":"2010-09-27T15:24:28","date_gmt":"2010-09-27T20:24:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/acugst\/?p=268"},"modified":"2010-09-27T23:20:34","modified_gmt":"2010-09-28T04:20:34","slug":"thoughts-on-summit-interlude-and-postlude","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/acugst\/thoughts-on-summit-interlude-and-postlude\/","title":{"rendered":"Thoughts on Summit: Interlude and Postlude"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now that is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acu.edu\/academics\/cbs\/centers-services\/ministryevents\/summit\/\">Summit<\/a> is in the books, we can turn back to the Psalms.\u00a0 But let me say first that last week was a wonderful time, as always, of seeing old friends and making new ones.\u00a0 Many good things were said and done, and we all got to remember how pleasant it is to be part of a church community in which we can love each other and think together.<\/p>\n<p>Among the many valuable resources that came out of this time, there are a couple that every church leader should consider.\u00a0 One is Dr. Jeanene Reese&#8217;s new book, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bible.acu.edu\/leafwood\/pg.asp?ID=141\">&#8220;Bound and Determined: Christian Men and Women in Partnership&#8221;<\/a> from Leafwood Publishers.\u00a0 This volume is the result of a decade of research, teaching, and interacting with men and women in ministry.\u00a0 It is sensible, spiritually mature, and challenging.\u00a0 It is also eminently readable, and it deserves a wide audience.<\/p>\n<p>Another resource is the website <a href=\"http:\/\/halfthechurch.wordpress.com\">http:\/\/halfthechurch.wordpress.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You will benefit from the podcasts and readings that will emerge there over the next little while.
