Turnitin Feedback Studio is a tool integrated into Canvas to manage student assignments. Faculty can use the tool to check assignment originality, provide feedback and give grades. If you intend to use it in your class, make sure you state it in your syllabus that it will be used to help check originality of their work. If you would like to submit student work to check for plagiarism yourself, you might want to obtain written consent from them.\u00a0 See this post for details: Check individual student work in Turnitin.com<\/a><\/p>\n

You can also choose to use the Canvas Speedgrader for some similar functions. If you want to learn more about either tool, contact Adams Center for information.<\/p>\n

Access:<\/strong>
In the summer of 2025, the Turnitin LTI was upgraded from LTI 1.1 to LTI 1.3. With this update, it is no longer accessed as an “External Tool”. If you are copying content from previous courses that utilized LTI 1.1, that Turnitin connection will no longer work, and the assignment will need to be updated with LTI 1.3. If the assignment has received submissions prior to updating, those submissions will not be accessible. The assignment will need to be recreated with the new LTI 1.3, and students will need to resubmit. <\/span><\/p>\n

This new method of integrating Turnitin into your assignments will look different, but we have included a link to the Creative & Academic Technology blog that includes helpful videos on using Turnitin LTI 1.3.<\/span><\/p>\n
