{"id":3529,"date":"2015-02-09T15:42:34","date_gmt":"2015-02-09T21:42:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/adamscenter\/?p=3529"},"modified":"2015-05-05T10:28:23","modified_gmt":"2015-05-05T15:28:23","slug":"canvas-implementation-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/adamscenter\/2015\/02\/09\/canvas-implementation-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"Canvas Implementation Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Abilene Christian University starts campus-wide implementation of Canvas in Fall of 2015. \u00a0Some courses have already been offered in Spring 2015, and some in summer 2015 as well.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few resources you can use to become familiar with Canvas.<\/p>\n<p><b><b>Training:<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adams Center offers regular training sessions about Canvas, including introductory sessions and various uses of Canvas, for instance, how to use Canvas grades, assignments and apps. \u00a0Consider signing up for these sessions to learn more about Canvas even if you are not using it this semester. Check <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/adamscenter\/adams-center-events\/adams-center-events-calendar\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>\u00a0for sessions about Canvas. If your department wants to schedule some sessions in a small group setting, let us know and we can arrange that.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><b>Other resources:<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can also learn to use Canvas by watching <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lynda.com\/Canvas-tutorials\/Up-Running-Canvas-2015\/369611-2.html\" target=\"_blank\">Lynda.com video on Canvas<\/a>. \u00a0We highly recommend you complete this course before teaching in Canvas. \u00a0ACU has a site license for Lynda.com. \u00a0Check <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/learningstudio\/lynda\/\" target=\"_blank\">this page <\/a>for instructions\u00a0if you have issues logging into Lynda.com.<\/li>\n<li>Canvas also provides a great variety of tutorials on various topics related to the uses of Canvas\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/guides.instructure.com\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>. \u00a0 If you need help with specific tasks in Canvas, we would recommend you search the guides.<\/li>\n<li>Adams Center also develops a Canvas Orientation Course, including some ACU-specific content. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acu.instructure.com\/courses\/1545512\" target=\"_blank\">Check here <\/a>to see the course. \u00a0Contact Berlin Fang if you want to be enrolled and participate in course activities as a student.
