In addition, federal law protects the rights of individuals with disabilities. This law requires the provision of regular or special education and related aids and services designed to meet the student&#8217;s individual educational needs as adequately as the needs of nondisabled students are met.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Alpha Scholars office seeks to work with each student and their individual needs to provide accommodations appropriate for each class.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students are required to provide faculty with their accommodations paperwork. This paperwork then triggers the noted accommodations. They don\u2019t go into effect until the faculty is given the paperwork. Gabby reminded us that we provide access, not success. Students are responsible for success with their access.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Gabby explained some of the accommodations that are available and the accompanying paperwork. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.acu.edu\/about\/uap\/overview\/student-resources\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This link<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> has helpful information about note-taking and recording policies and the exam policy. Many of the questions raised by faculty are addressed <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.acu.edu\/about\/uap\/overview\/faqs\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
