The Big Country Art Association is a regional collective of artists whose work reflects the stunning diversity of artistic talent in west central Texas. This juried exhibition is open to all Big Country artists, amateur and professional, 18 years and older. Work in any medium (painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramics) is welcome. You may enter a maximum of 3 pieces. The ACU Downtown Gallery, located at 1133 North 2nd St. in downtown Abilene, hosts the Fall 2014 Exhibition from\u00a0Nov. 13\u2013Dec. 6: gallery hours are\u00a0Noon-3PM, Wednesday-Saturday.<\/p>\n

ENTRY FEES:<\/b><\/p>\n

Standard Fees —————\u00a0<\/b>$25 for first artwork, $10 for additional work.<\/p>\n

Students ———————-\u00a0<\/b>$20 for first artwork, $10 for each additional work.<\/p>\n

Senior Show<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Mark your calendar to attend\u00a0Value<\/b>\u00a0a senior show hosted by Amelia Carnagey and Amanda Shouse. The show opens on\u00a0Friday October 24th at 5pm\u00a0in Shore Gallery.\u00a0 This is a great way to earn your Art Event credits.<\/p>\n

New Social Science Option<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The history department will be offering a new course in spring that satisfies the social science requirement.\u00a0HIST 131 World History<\/b>\u00a0will be a hybrid course meeting for 75 mins\u00a0on Monday\u00a0nights, with the rest of the content being delivered online. This could be a great option for students who have a full schedule but still need a social science. It will fulfill the same requirements as our HIST 117, 118, 221, and 222 classes.<\/div>\n
