I hope many persons are keeping a sideways eye on the protests in Israel.\u00a0 Pretty much unprecedented.\u00a0 Some reservists are even refusing to report, rare.\u00a0 If these judicial reforms are so important, we would have heard about them for a long time and they would have been part of the campaigns.\u00a0 If the PM wants to be a real leader he will slow down the drive to enact the judiciary changes.\u00a0 (And remove the parts of the proposed reform that limit his legal liability from his corruption cases).\u00a0 In fact, this is a dangerous time.\u00a0 Israel under PM Net can\u2019t proactively attack Iran\u2019s 90% nuclear program bec Israel\u2019s claims won\u2019t have legitimacy.\u00a0 If you can\u2019t trust the government on the judiciary issue, how can you trust on issues of war?\u00a0 I am not close enough, really close, to know who will blink in the coalition.\u00a0 But PM Net has always been strong on national security issues, and he is losing persuasive clout in the public\u2019s eyes.\u00a0 Whatever happens, I predict the return of Naftali Bennett as PM.\u00a0 And I predict more open warfare between Israel and Iran, beyond the undeclared present war.\u00a0 See for example \u201cNetanyahu Is Shattering Israeli Society,\u201d<\/a> NYT, 2-28-23.<\/p>\n
