In addition to a lesson on leadership taught by Tim Johnston, we got to hear messages from Mike Haley, formerly of Focus on the Family, and Stephen Quinn, Chief Marketing Officer of Wal-Mart.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1530\" style=\"width: 298px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/coba\/2013\/02\/04\/leadership-summit-day-4\/haley\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1530\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1530\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1530\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/coba\/files\/2013\/02\/haley.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"288\" height=\"377\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/coba\/files\/2013\/02\/haley.jpg 288w, https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/coba\/files\/2013\/02\/haley-114x150.jpg 114w, https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/coba\/files\/2013\/02\/haley-229x300.jpg 229w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 288px) 100vw, 288px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1530\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mike Haley<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Both of these men told incredible stories about the hard times they\u2019ve been through and the way that God has sustained them throughout those times.<\/p>\n<p>Of all the speakers we heard throughout the week, I found Mr. Quinn\u2019s to be the most moving, in part because the night before his presentation, my friends and I had the opportunity to eat dinner with him and his wife, Linda. \u00a0Throughout the meal, the Quinns told us about their hobbies and their families, a conversation that I can\u2019t imagine having with a senior level executive anywhere else.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1531\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/coba\/2013\/02\/04\/leadership-summit-day-4\/attachment\/0\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1531\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1531\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1531\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/coba\/files\/2013\/02\/0.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/coba\/files\/2013\/02\/0.jpg 480w, https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/coba\/files\/2013\/02\/0-150x112.jpg 150w, https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/coba\/files\/2013\/02\/0-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1531\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Stephen Quinn, CMO of Wal-mart<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Last year Mr. Quinn was named the top marketer in the world, and while he told us about some of his work as a marketer at various companies, his emphasis was on something different: Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Quinn truly believes that God has called him to serve others in the marketplace. As a result of this conviction, he allows God to open his eyes to individuals in his workplace who are suffering. As a result of this awareness, Mr. Quinn has been able to introduce many of his employees to Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Quinn summed this up perfectly when he said,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cYou will never walk in perfect love until you invest in people.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Are you investing in those around you?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The fourth day of Summit was my favorite.
