Buc-ee’s also has filed suit against Omaha, Nebraska-based Bucks, Frio River Grocery in Concan, Texas, (over it’s use of a Beaver mascot) and a half dozen others in recent years.

The federal trial to determine whether the lip-licking, hat-wearing, finger-pointing alligator mascot of Choke Canyon Travel Center in San Antonio looks too much like Buc-ee’s smiling bucktooth beaver has been postponed.. Choke Canyon alleges that Buc-ee’s is holding up the trial because it “believes it has the sole right to use any smiling, friendly, cartoon animal logo for its travel centers,” and is trying to prevent other trademark lawsuits that Buc-ee’s has filed from getting introduced into evidence in front of a jury, according to court records.
