ACT FOUR
Dr. Johnson also talked about ACU students who are living out the Missional Impulse in neighborhoods not far from campus.
Read more about the Allelon Community at their website or listen to Dr. McCracken’s interview with them a couple weeks ago. In telling their story, Dr. Johnson invited us to consider a fourth Missional Impulse.

Missional Impulse 4: Vision – Imagining God’s Future into Reality.
- Do you believe that we can imagine something into reality? What does that phrase mean to you?
- Christian theology talks about God’s future by using the word “eschatology.” The eschaton refers to the end of things, meaning the purpose toward which all things move. What is the vision of the world toward which you think all things are moving?
- Finally, Christians are not simply to wait idly by until this end comes about. They are called to pray for it, to pursue it, to bring expressions of it to realization in the world. This is at the heart of what it means to be missional.
- What are some ways that one might begin to participate in God’s mission in the world now?
