You’ve finished your first semester of college. Congratulations! How did it go?
Don’t miss this opportunity to assess the past semester. As you prepare for a much deserved break, take some time to reflect on the past four months.
- What did you do well? What can you improve in future semesters?
- What kind of student do you want to be two years from now? If you continue studying and living like you are now, will you become that student? If not, what do you need to change?
To help you reflect, consider the poetic rules for students, teachers, and life written by artist Corita Kent. (You can read a short history of the rules here.)
Discussion Questions:
- Which rule did you follow well this past semester? Which rule do you want to focus on next semester?
- This list is far from complete (as the last line of the whole document implies). If you could write your own three rules based on your experience this past semester, what would they be?
