What is the “missional impulse”? Dr. Stephen Johnson, along with students from the ACU Honors Justice and Urban Studies Team, outlines four foundational movements of the missional life. As he explains, missional Christians seek to embody the narrative of a loving God who empties himself for the sake of the world. They do so by welcoming the stranger, encountering God in the margins (rather than the centers of cultural power), and leaning into the eschatological future. God’s plan for the future reconciliation of all things is the work of the church here and now.
