Quiet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">The bitter pill I wouldn\u2019t take<br \/>\nthat&#8217;s stuck halfway down my esophageal passage<br \/>\nisn&#8217;t race at all<br \/>\nnor gender<br \/>\nbut a body that won\u2019t do as others do.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">I\u2019ll tell you the story sometime<br \/>\nif you ask me, if you really want to listen<br \/>\nand not because you feel you should.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">I won\u2019t use words like Alienated or Privileged or People-Treat-People-Terribly-<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff\">&#8230;<\/span>Just-Because-They-Are-Different! (though I want to).<br \/>\nI\u2019ll just say (and so should you):<br \/>\n<em>You have no idea.<br \/>\n<\/em>I might whisper that third word.<br \/>\nOr I might yell it out, really surprise people with fury,<br \/>\nsomething as rare for me as holding<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">A strip of film up to the light, the squares of heartache<br \/>\neach a separate story I could tell you:<br \/>\nHere, was when we lost the baby.<br \/>\nHere, was when we remembered how fragile we were.<br \/>\nHere, was when we closed our eyes in the sunlight<br \/>\noutside the rotating hospital door.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">\u201cGet-Over-It\u201d<br \/>\nis a curse word in any language.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">Me: 33, female, white, married, believer, doubter.
