She also worked with Dr. Davis and president, Chris Fields, to create a budget for the society. During my time at Abilene Christian University, I have played in the ACU Orchestra my freshman and sophomore years, and it has been my main activity that I am seriously dedicated to since I have been playing for fourteen years.  During the fall of my sophomore year I had the opportunity to volunteer at Abilene Hope Haven, which allowed me to spend time with homeless children.  When I am home in Houston, I volunteer at Ten Thousand Villages, which is a store that sells fair trade materials and supports artisan groups in third world countries.  My goals for future employment are for me to get a job that will allow me to write creatively in some way or to become a novelist.  I would like to thank my mom for pushing me to major in English when I was unsure and my dad for always been so eager to read whatever I write.
