Several ACU faculty and staff members have become \u201cBigs\u201d in thier program as well.\u00a0 However, Big Sisters Big Brothers is currently enrolling volunteers for their <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/hr\/files\/2014\/06\/Yes-Volunteer-Flyer_Abilene.pdf\">Lunch Buddy program<\/a> in AISD and are in <strong>dire need<\/strong> for additional volunteers. They currently have 137 children on their waiting list and many of them have been waiting to be matched for more than a year.<\/p>\n<p>The program begins in the fall and is super easy and fun. A volunteer is matched with a child at an elementary school. They simply enjoy lunch and friendship together once a week for 30 minutes. In other words, folks can eat lunch and volunteer at the same time!
