In this lunch-time talk, Professor Brannen will discuss the current state of cross-cultural management research and the vital role of\u00a0ethnography in helping to move the field forward. Central to her thesis is the importance of going beyond pre-determined generalized\u00a0categorizations, to understanding individuals in their own context, thus\u00a0allowing for more robust and externally valid cross-cultural studies.\u00a0 Such learning from the Other in turn helps firms and individuals reflect back on their own\u00a0assumptions, practices and behaviors contributing not only to growth and renewal but, even more importantly, to enhanced, more compassionate,\u00a0cross-cultural understanding.<\/p>\n<p>Interested faculty can RSVP to Kathy Garison (<a href=\"mailto:klg08e@acu.edu\">klg08e@acu.edu<\/a>).
