‘Images of Aging’ 2010-2011<\/strong> was the first year for the Photo Contest.\u00a0 The purpose was to provide an interdisciplinary venue to ACU students to encourage creative expression by combining an appreciation for older adults, a love for the art of photography, and the technological skill of digital media.<\/p>\n

It was open from November 11, 2010 to January 31, 2011. Sponsors were Pruett Gerontology Center, The Learning Studio, and the Art Department.\u00a0\u00a0 All photos were required to include a minimum of one older adult of at least 60 years of age.\u00a0 Be sure to click on the photo archives to see all the photos.<\/em><\/p>\n

We are proud of the student response.\u00a0 Students participated across campus\u00a0 representing eight different departments:\u00a0Sociology and Family Studies,\u00a0Art and Design,\u00a0Social Work,\u00a0Journalism and Mass Communication,\u00a0Psychology,\u00a0Communication Science and Disorders,\u00a0Exercise Science, and\u00a0School of Information Technology and Computing.<\/p>\n

There were five categories: black and white documentary, color documentary, black and white art, color art, and mobile device.\u00a0 Judges determined First Place and Honorable Mention prize winners.<\/p>\n

All the student participants, their department chairs, judges and select ACU dignitaries celebrated their accomplishments at a special awards luncheon.<\/p>\n
