{"id":690,"date":"2014-10-01T14:50:26","date_gmt":"2014-10-01T19:50:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/imagesofaging\/?p=690"},"modified":"2016-03-02T13:12:14","modified_gmt":"2016-03-02T19:12:14","slug":"5thioaphotocontest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/imagesofaging\/2014\/10\/01\/5thioaphotocontest\/","title":{"rendered":"5th Annual Images of Aging Photo Contest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><a href=\"http:\/\/animoto.com\/play\/J7QGgLgXoJp6L4FjxHK1CA\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-632 alignleft\" alt=\"blog annoucement video\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/imagesofaging\/files\/2013\/11\/blogann.jpg\" width=\"376\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/imagesofaging\/files\/2013\/11\/blogann.jpg 376w, https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/imagesofaging\/files\/2013\/11\/blogann-150x119.jpg 150w, https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/imagesofaging\/files\/2013\/11\/blogann-300x239.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 376px) 100vw, 376px\" \/><\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Pruett Gerontology Center is pleased to announce the 5 year for \u2018Images of Aging\u2019 Photo Contest.<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">ACU students across campus are encouraged to take and submit photographs that include at least one person who is 60 years of age or older.\u00a0 Join this elite group of photographers from all disciplines who appreciate the older adults in their lives and enjoy the digital photography!<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b>Contest starts November 12, 2014 and ends February 27, 2015<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Students currently enrolled at ACU for the 2014-2015 scholastic year are eligible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>There are three categories:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Black and white\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 <\/b>photos can be submitted as taken or artistically enhanced<b> <\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Color\u00a0 \u2013 \u00a0<\/b>photos can be submitted as taken or artistically enhanced<b> <\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Mobile \u00a0\u2013 \u00a0<\/b>photos taken with a mobile device such as iPhone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\">First Place and Second Place prizes awarded for each category.<br \/>\nHonorable Mentions awarded at judges sole discretion.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">A special awards luncheon will be held to celebrate all participants, prizes will be given.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><i>This is a skills-based contest. \u00a0Chance plays no part in the determination of winners.<\/i><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Technical help is available at The Learning Studio located on the third floor of the Brown Library.\u00a0 <i>If you do not own a camera, please contact The Learning Studio and ask about their \u2018<b>check-out camera\u2019<\/b> program. \u00a0Everyone is invited to participate!<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Entrants may submit photos to any category, but not more than <i>three<\/i> for each category. Photographs should be taken with the <i>highest<\/i> possible resolution.<\/p>\n<p><b>How to Enter:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>1. Read and agree<\/i> to the <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/imagesofaging\/photo-contest-rules\/\" target=\"_blank\">Photo Contest Rules<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><i>2. Download<\/i> the <a title=\"Model Release Form\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/a\/acu.edu\/document\/d\/1uogh3_nMFZyYKVdrsJ1yYdhk0-XheCNKma7EAKJjaA4\/edit\" target=\"_blank\">model release form<\/a>. Each person in your photographs must sign the <a title=\"Model Release Form\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/a\/acu.edu\/document\/d\/1uogh3_nMFZyYKVdrsJ1yYdhk0-XheCNKma7EAKJjaA4\/edit\" target=\"_blank\">model release form<\/a>.\u00a0 You may make as many copies as you need.<\/p>\n<p><i>3. Take your photos!<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must include at least one person 60+ years old<\/li>\n<li>All model(s) must sign release form<\/li>\n<li>Use highest resolution possible<\/li>\n<li>Give your photograph a title<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>4. Submit<\/i> your photo by email \u00a0<a href=\"mailto:imagesofaging@acu.edu\">imagesofaging@acu.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use your own ACU email address\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 this tells us who you are<\/li>\n<li>Submit one photo per email<\/li>\n<li>Put Category of photo and Title in subject line of your email. (Ex: Mobile, His Eyes)<\/li>\n<li>Name all the models in your photograph in the body of the email<\/li>\n<li>If you wish, please include two or three sentences that tell the story of the picture<\/li>\n<li>Attach your photo and send to <a href=\"mailto:imagesofaging@acu.edu\">imagesofaging@acu.edu<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>5. Submit<\/i> your signed Model Release forms within 2 days to of photo submission to:<\/p>\n<p>Pruett Gerontology Center\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 Hardin Administration Bldg\u00a0 Room 118\u00a0 or\u00a0\u00a0 ACU Box 27793.
