{"id":9,"date":"2010-11-05T01:00:42","date_gmt":"2010-11-05T06:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/WelcometoACUBlogs.Thisisyourblog&#039;sfirstpost.Youcaneditordeleteitandstartblogging!"},"modified":"2016-03-02T13:40:03","modified_gmt":"2016-03-02T19:40:03","slug":"default-post","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/imagesofaging\/2010\/11\/05\/default-post\/","title":{"rendered":"Come join in the fun!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Winners are Announced for 2010-2011 Contest !!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>See winning photos and all entries under &#8216;Pages&#8217;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Congratulations and thank you to everyone who participated&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>***<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Pruett Gerontology Center<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Art and Design Department<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Digital Media Center<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">sponsors<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>&#8220;Images of Aging&#8221;<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong> <\/strong><strong>Photo Contest 2011<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are<strong> <\/strong>excited to present the first <strong>&#8220;Images of Aging&#8221;<\/strong> Photo Contest to the students of Abilene Christian University. \u00a0 ACU students are encouraged to connect with older adults through the art of photography.\u00a0 \u00a0 <strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While there are several categories that each present different creative and technical possibilities, all photographs must include at least one person 60 years old or older.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #800000\"><strong>Contest starts November 11, 2010 and ends January 31, 2011.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>All students enrolled at Abilene Christian University for the 2010-2011 scholastic year are eligible.\u00a0 Faculty, staff and the general public are not.<\/p>\n<p><strong>There are five categories:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Art Forms &#8211;<\/strong> <strong>black and white<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0 photos that can be enhanced artistically<strong> <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Art Forms &#8211; color<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0 photos that can be enhanced artistically<strong> <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Documentary<\/strong> &#8211; <strong>black and white<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0 photos with minimal enhancements<\/li>\n<li><strong>Documentary<\/strong> &#8211; <strong>color<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0 photos with minimal enhancements<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mobile\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; <\/strong>photos taken with a mobile device such as iPhone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #800000\">First Place prize for each category is a gift certificate to Best Buy for $150.00.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #800000\">Honorable Mentions will be awarded gift certificate for $50.00 each.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This is a skills-based contest.\u00a0 Chance plays no part in the determination of winners.\u00a0 Technical help is available at the Digital Media Center located in the basement of the Brown Library.<\/p>\n<p>Entrants may submit photos to any category, but not more than <em>three<\/em> for each category.<\/p>\n<p>Photographs should be taken with the <em>highest<\/em> possible resolution.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>How to Enter:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>1. Read and agree<\/em> to the <a href=\"https:\/\/spreadsheets.google.com\/a\/acu.edu\/viewform?formkey=dExhc3hsQUFJWUVZMXNpcFp3ajV5Snc6MQ\">Photo Contest Rules<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>2. Download<\/em> the <a title=\"Model Release Form\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/fileview?id=0BwfxANarLnu7ZmVkM2U3NGQtNDBjZC00NWIxLTk1ODgtNGIxNThjYmNiYWRk&amp;hl=en&amp;authkey=CNrf-eAK\" target=\"_blank\">model release form<\/a>. You may make as many copies as you need.<\/p>\n<p><em>3. Take your photos!<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must include at least one person 60+ years old<\/li>\n<li>All model(s) must sign release form<\/li>\n<li>Use highest resolution possible<\/li>\n<li>Give your photograph a title<\/li>\n<li>Have fun!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>4. Submit<\/em> your photo by email.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use your own ACU email address\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 this tells us who you are<\/li>\n<li>Submit one photo per email<\/li>\n<li>Put Category of photo in subject line (ie. Art Forms color)<\/li>\n<li>Name all the models in your photograph in the body of the email<\/li>\n<li>If you wish, please include two or three sentences that tell the story of the picture<\/li>\n<li>Attach your photo and send to <a href=\"mailto:imagesofaging@acu.edu\">imagesofaging@acu.edu<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>5.
