On Friday, March 29 Max Lucado (`77) and his executive editor, Karen Hill, joined joined a select group of friends of ACU Library for a tour of two exhibit spaces featuring archival and print materials from the Max Lucado Papers.  The exhibit on the main level of the library showcases the global reach of Lucado’s popular children’s book You Are Special.  The downstairs exhibit displays materials illustrating Lucado as a Bible reader, student, and preacher. Participants heard Lucado and Hill share touching and inspiring stories from readers: stories of how God’s grace renews our hope.

“Librarians and readers of all kinds understand the potency of the written word, but it was especially poignant to hear Max share what he thought were especially moving stories from his readers” says Mac Ice, Director of Special Collections.

The tour was part of the launch of the Brown Library Board of Advisors, a group of friends and donors who support the mission of the university through advocacy and fundraising efforts for the library.

The exhibits will remain on display through the summer and are available online along with past Lucado exhibits. The Lucado Papers, comprising over 150 boxes of unique archival material, are processed and available for research.
