This Spring, the Innovation Foundry offered an opportunity for students to take the Adobe Certified Associate certification exam – an industry-recognized certification that demonstrates proficiency in Adobe digital skills, such as Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. The certification enables students to demonstrate design principles and have an edge on skills that can be used when working for an employer and with clients.

“As an aspiring game designer going more on the artistic side, I believe the certification will be useful for getting internships or jobs,” says sophomore, Camila Rodrigues. She took the courses online at Lynda.com.

Amos Guiterrez, Learning Technology Specialist and Adobe Ambassador, administered the process, and was the one in charge of the exam access codes and monitoring the exam. “Over the next year, we will keep in touch with the students to see if they believe their certification aided them in securing an internship or job,” says Amos.

Ten ACU students earned their Adobe Certification:

  • Jade Rupley
  • Alma Nava
