If you have ever used Interlibrary Loans, you may have looked for the five-digit transaction number of your request. It’s time to look for that sixth digit!
Since we started using ILLiad in 2013, the ACU Library has received over 100,000 requests from ACU patrons and other libraries. The first transaction processed using ILLiad was transaction number 1! While we provided Interlibrary Loan services before we started using ILLiad, the number of requests processed before we began using ILLiad is unknown. Thankfully, we don’t have to print out each individual request to process them anymore!
On January 23, 2020, we received request number 100,000. It was a request from the Houston Academy of Medicine for an article from the Journal of Gynecological Surgery.
With the rise of ACU’s online programs, ILL has become an increasingly utilized resource for our student base. We doubt it will take seven more years to reach 200,000!
