{"id":1061,"date":"2019-01-23T10:55:47","date_gmt":"2019-01-23T16:55:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/library\/?p=1061"},"modified":"2019-01-23T10:55:47","modified_gmt":"2019-01-23T16:55:47","slug":"a-blog-series-written-by-special-collections-and-archives-student-workers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/library\/2019\/01\/23\/a-blog-series-written-by-special-collections-and-archives-student-workers\/","title":{"rendered":"A blog series written by Special Collections and Archives student workers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1062 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/library\/files\/2019\/01\/FellowWorkers-176x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"176\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/library\/files\/2019\/01\/FellowWorkers-176x300.jpg 176w, https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/library\/files\/2019\/01\/FellowWorkers-88x150.jpg 88w, https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/library\/files\/2019\/01\/FellowWorkers-768x1312.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/library\/files\/2019\/01\/FellowWorkers-287x490.jpg 287w, https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/library\/files\/2019\/01\/FellowWorkers-1080x1844.jpg 1080w, https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/library\/files\/2019\/01\/FellowWorkers.jpg 1215w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 176px) 100vw, 176px\" \/>In conjunction with the recent Keeble online and in-house exhibit, \u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/specialcollections\/exhibits\/the-book-will-be-preaching-after-you-and-i-have-gone-home-marshall-keebles-enduring-print-legacy\/#.W6EZUJNKj2Q\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThe book will be preaching after you and I have gone home\u201d: Marshall Keeble\u2019s Print Legacy<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, Special Collections and Archives student workers, Sandrine Ingabire, Jeaniece Silas, and Sarah Dillinger were tasked to research and write short notes as part of a blog series on the lives of some of the men that Marshall Keeble mentored, specifically, \u201cFellow Workers\u201d pictured in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Biography and Sermons of Marshall Keeble, Evangelist.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Senior Global Studies major who has worked in Special Collections for over a semester at ACU, Sandrine Ingabire, learned that <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/specialcollections\/2018\/10\/15\/marshall-keebles-fellow-workers-john-vaughner\/#.W-svi5NKjVo\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">John Vaughner<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> will forever be remembered for his work as a preacher and evangelist and for the lives that he transformed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sarah Dillinger, Senior Social Studies major from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a student worker in Special Collections for three years, discovered that <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/specialcollections\/2018\/10\/08\/marshall-keebles-fellow-workers-percy-ricks\/#.W-suqZNKjVo\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Evangelist Perry \u201cPercy\u201d Ricks<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> was the brother-n-law of Marshall Keeble and visited West Africa where he preached a sermon to 400 Africans of whom 16 were baptized afterwards. Due to the impact of the West Africa visit, Ricks became a champion for hospitals, schools, and missionaries in that part of the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jeaniece Silas, Senior Social Work major and child and family services minor from Fort Worth, Texas has been a student worker in Special Collections for three years. \u00a0She learned that information could not be found on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/specialcollections\/2018\/10\/22\/marshall-keebles-fellow-workers-james-f-hewin-and-thomas-dickson\/#.W-suK5NKjVo\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Thomas Dickson and James F. Hewin<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, who were two of the six men pictured in Marshall Keeble\u2019s biography as men Keeble influenced. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Director of <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/specialcollections\/#.W-s3KxNKhGM\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Special Collections and Archives<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, Mac Ice, shares, \u201cOur student workers are not only processing archivists and digitization specialists, they are also curators and scholars.
