Library friends gathered at Brown Library on Sat., Sept. 7 to dedicate the <\/span>Barry and Diane Packer Forum<\/span><\/a> with a ribbon cutting, including former <\/span>ACU board chair and trustee <\/span>Dr. Barry Packer (\u201978),<\/b> his wife, <\/span>Diane (Stephens \u201977),<\/b> mother, Barbara Packer, and other family members. ACU President, Dr. Phil Schubert spoke of the positive impact that the Packer Forum will have on students and faculty, and Dr. Packer emphasized the importance of collaboration at ACU and how it positively affected his own life as an alum.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span>Photo:\u00a0 John B. To commemorate the history and contributions of the <\/span>Restoration Movement<\/span><\/a>, from which ACU arose, guests also celebrated the <\/span>210th anniversary of T<\/span>homas Campbell\u2019s <\/span>Declaration and Address <\/span><\/i><\/a>with a lunch and congregational worship that included <\/span>ACU A Capella Chorus<\/span><\/a>, Directed by Dr. Jeffery Goolsby and the hymn \u201cLife Together in Unity\u201d, composed by Dr. Gregory Straughn, Dean, <\/span>College of Arts and Sciences<\/span><\/a>. <\/span>Assistant Professor of Church History and Director for the Center for Restoration Studies, <\/span>Dr. Wes Crawford (\u201802 M. Div.)<\/b><\/a> gave the keynote lecture:\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cChristians Only, But Not the Only Christians: A Restoration Plea for 21st-Century America.\u201d\u00a0 Photo:\u00a0 <\/em><\/span>A Capella Chorus, Directed by Dr. Jeffery Goolsby – ACU s<\/span>tudents: Ramon Barron, Brandon Combs, Ema Conaster, Hanah Davis, Jessica Diaz, Christopher Huerta, Dawson Maxwell, Rachel Rankey, Charlie Reader, Weston Weast, Kamryn Wheeler, Zoe Wiedenfeld, Hannah Yeates<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Mac Ice, Director of <\/span>Archives and Special Collections<\/span><\/a> shared recent <\/span>Center of Restoration Studies<\/span><\/a> acquisitions and <\/span>encouraged guests to view the exhibit, \u201c\u2018For the good of mankind\u2019: Thomas and Alexander Campbell\u2019s Enduring Print Legacy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

T<\/span>he celebratory day ended with moderated conversation, led by Dr. Carisse Berryhill, Special Collections Librarian.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
