Rhodes honored <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/specialcollections\/about\/staff\/associate-dean-for-archives-and-collections\/#.Wck6btN95GM\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dr. Carisse Berryhill, Associate Dean for Archives and Collections,<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> with the 2017 ACU Faculty Service Award at the<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Faculty Pre-Session on August 23. \u00a0Dr. Berryhill received the award for a lifetime of service, especially for her commitment to serving the community through preservation, study and teaching of the history of the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/digitalcommons.acu.edu\/scr\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Stone-Campbell movement. <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In presenting the award, Dr. Rhodes stated, &#8220;You have inspired us with your dedication to service in both your professional and personal life. \u00a0Since 2011 you have served as chair of the Board for <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.acu.edu\/legacy\/sponsored\/restoration_quarterly\/index.html\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Restoration Quarterly<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, and you have similarly served two terms on the board of directors for the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atla.com\/Pages\/default.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">American Theological Library Association (ATLA)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. \u00a0I am impressed that in addition to all you do as a distinguished teacher and a scholar to enhance understanding of the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/digitalcommons.acu.edu\/scr\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Stone-Campbell movement<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and to preserve the documents and artifacts connected with that movement, you multiply your service through your commitment to emphasizing to others in your field the importance of hospitality as a virtue in theological librarianship.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI\u2019m grateful for the opportunities I\u2019ve been given to serve,\u201d Dr. Berryhill said. \u201cThis award is a great encouragement. I have studied with and worked alongside members of the Rhodes family of distinguished educators all through my career, so these kind words from Dr. Rhodes are especially sweet.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Provost Dr. Robert L.
