Since 1978, the cost of textbooks has risen 812%, outpacing even the cost of medical services and new housing. Nationally, students spend an average of $1,200 a year on textbooks. \u00a0\u00a0The grants will be provided to faculty who are adopting or adapting open access texts in Fall 2018 through high-enrollment courses where quality open access textbooks exists. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Recipients of Alt-Textbook Initiative Grants are:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dr. Deb Williams, Prof. of Language and Literature; Director of Composition: ENGL 111 Composition and Rhetoric <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Successful College Composition<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
