{"id":1361,"date":"2021-02-03T14:13:25","date_gmt":"2021-02-03T20:13:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/lytlecenter\/?p=1361"},"modified":"2021-02-03T14:29:22","modified_gmt":"2021-02-03T20:29:22","slug":"acu-professor-dr-don-pope-publishes-article-on-christian-leadership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/lytlecenter\/2021\/02\/03\/acu-professor-dr-don-pope-publishes-article-on-christian-leadership\/","title":{"rendered":"ACU Professor Dr. Don Pope Publishes Article on Christian Leadership"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>ACU management professor, Dr. Don Pope, recently published an article in the <em>Christian Business Review<\/em> entitled, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yumpu.com\/en\/document\/read\/64438356\/christian-business-review-2020-leadership\/26\">What Christian Leaders Can Learn From Lean.<\/a>\u201d The manuscript features a quality review of the Lean management system and then highlights unique parallels between Lean and Christian leadership principles.<\/p>\n<p>Three (of the seven) lessons that Dr. Pope and his co-author Dr. Parris found in Lean that were applicable to Christian Leadership included:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Focus on pleasing God and providing value to your customers<\/li>\n<li>Identify and eliminate waste and sin<\/li>\n<li>Work on the root<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1363\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.acu.edu\/lytlecenter\/files\/2021\/02\/ACU25858-490x327.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"262\" height=\"175\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Pope has been working at ACU for 20 years following a 20 year career in aircraft manufacturing. His courses include: statistics, operations management and business analytics for the MBA program. Dr. Pope is a stellar example of a servant leader. While he never seeks the limelight for himself, he is always looking for ways to help students and his fellow COBA faculty shine.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>Dr. Pope, what is your favorite part about working at ACU?<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<em>Working with students.
