Used self-learning and assessment techniques acquired from the Master Teacher program\u00a0over the fall of 2014 and spring of 2015 to revamp the course structure and integrate it with Canvas.\u00a0 Improved retention of students over past years and received comments that more students enjoyed\u00a0 the course.<\/p>\n<p>Macroeconomics Online (completed)- Developed a course for the online version of ECON 260 offered the summer of 2018 to\u00a0focus on\u00a0learning and character development vs. grades.<\/p>\n<p>Data Mining &#8211; Developed the ACU Online Graduate course for data mining and analytics, 2017.<\/p>\n<p><em>Operations Management Adobe Creative Cloud App Development<\/em> (in progress) &#8211; Worked during the summer of 2015 with a Curriculum Development team in the Adams Center and the Learning\u00a0Studio to take course content from Operations Management and convert the course into a published app.\u00a0 The intent is to make the course portable and\u00a0easily assessable using mobile technologies.\u00a0 Development is continuing to offer a mobile version in Summer 2019.<\/p>\n<p><em>Analytics<\/em> (updated to incorporate the use of\u00a0High Performance Computing (HPC) in molecular biology research, public health and bioterrorism surveillance) &#8211; emphasizes the role that bioinformatics plays in improving health conditions\u00a0by detecting both naturally occurring and man-made incidents of health-related issues.\u00a0\u00a0Students are introduced to using R\u00a0applications for\u00a0biosurveillance to make predictions and support\u00a0event-based decision making. Students use SAP\u00a0Lumira and Predictive Analysis\u00a0to build visualizations of large medical data sets and others made available through university partnerships.<\/p>\n<p><em>Enterprise Systems<\/em> &#8211; Updated the ERP course in 2018 to reflect the move into analytics, cloud-based platforms, agile approaches and rapid development of mobile applications.<\/p>\n<p><em>Enterprise Architectures<\/em> (completed) &#8211;<em>Enterprise Architectures and Systems<\/em> examines the processes and models that drive continuous organizational and technology alignment to optimize workflows, resource sharing, and access to services. The course focuses on the supporting role of IT infrastructures in business process management. Additional topics include standards and best practices, service-oriented architectures, global supply chains, and virtual technologies.<\/p>\n<p><em>Enterprise Systems<\/em> (completed) &#8211; <em>Enterprise Systems<\/em> introduces non-technical students to Enterprise Resource Planning from the perspective of software industry-leader SAP.\u00a0 In this course, students gain familiarity with business processes as an integrated unit within the context of the student\u2019s major or discipline.\u00a0 The course reveals the functional areas of a business as managed through processes that flow through financial and managerial accounting, inventory and warehouse management, logistics and materials management, manufacturing and production planning,\u00a0 sales and distribution, human capital management, marketing and customer service.\u00a0 Students learn to use both client server and cloud-based systems as they participate in an ERP simulation and work in interdisciplinary teams on hands-on exercises in process management and business intelligence.\u00a0 The course\u00a0is designed to\u00a0run three weeks, with one week of face to face meetings, one week in a distributed environment, and the final week in virtual teams.\u00a0 Computer access is required to participate.<\/p>\n<p><em>Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence<\/em> &#8211; Interest in the design and analysis of data in data warehouses continues to grow as data sets become large or &#8220;big&#8221; data.\u00a0 The course is designed as both a technical course providing hands-on experience in constructing data cubes and infostructures used in the analysis of large data sets.\u00a0 Various analytical approaches are introduced using current technologies used by companies with SAP analytical tools.\u00a0 Reporting and dashboard design are also covered, as well as the use of predictive analysis for mining\u00a0 large datasets from Sam&#8217;s Club and Tyson Foods, both made available by the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville campus.<\/p>\n<p><em>Energy Management<\/em> (completed) -The purpose of this course is to provide both business and engineering students with an exposure to enterprise information systems used in energy management within the context of the oil and gas industry.\u00a0 The need for this course\u00a0coincided with the acquisition of large land leases in\u00a0the Abilene-San Angelo-Lubbock areas by mid-sized fracking operations.\u00a0 This course\u00a0was developed in collaboration with representatives from SAP, Devon, Chesapeake, Conoco Phillips, Anadarko, and the University of Tulsa.\u00a0 Although developed as an online graduate course, it\u00a0can also be offered as a hybrid\u00a0class in a face to face environment.\u00a0 The course is suitable for both\u00a0undergraduate and graduate students in business management, engineering, or supply chain management.<\/p>\n<p><em>Blockchain<\/em> (under development) &#8211; This course explores blockchain technology, a secure and immutable way to record transactions.
