The contract is a procedure\u00a0<\/span>designed to clarify faculty expectations and increase the likelihood of student success and added by agreement of all colleges in 2016. Professors may assign a grade of \u201cI\u201d (Incomplete) only when illness or some significant reason\u00a0 beyond the control of the student prevents the student from completing the course by the end of\u00a0 the semester.\u00a0 To clarify expectations, professors should complete the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cdn01.acu.edu\/content\/dam\/community\/documents\/academic-offices\/registrar\/Incomplete-Grade-Contract%20(1).pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Student Contract for Completing an Incomplete Final Grade<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0 A grade of \u201cI\u201d (Incomplete) must be resolved no later than the end of the next long term; otherwise, it becomes an \u201cF\u201d on the student\u2019s record. The student is responsible for requesting and resolving an \u201cI.\u201d\u00a0 A student who is graduating should finish any incomplete courses prior to the semester in which he or she is graduating. Students must complete all courses graded as \u201cI\u201d in order to participate in commencement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The grade \u201cIP\u201d (In-Progress) is reserved for graduate students in graduate courses. An \u201cIP\u201d must be resolved no later than the end of the next long term; otherwise it becomes an \u201cI\u201d on the student\u2019s record. That \u201cI\u201d must be resolved no later than the end of the subsequent long term.
