\nThe Pruett Gerontology Center (PGC) is a non-profit, research-oriented center located onsite on the Abilene Christian University campus.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

PGC follows this Mission Statement: \u201cThe Pruett Gerontology Center offers instruction, service-learning, and partnership with faith-based and community-based programs, preparing students for leadership in the field of intergenerational aging.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

 <\/p>\n

PGC advocates for Aging in Place, Lifestyle Redesign, and Role Navigation through ongoing faculty research, support of undergraduate and graduate research, and on campus events such as the Aging Simulation, the TSHL Town Hall Meeting, You & Your Aging Parent speaking series, Free Hugs, and the Images of Aging Photo Contest. International, national, state and local community events include outreach to local assisted living centers, National Read-a-Thon Day, Walk to End Alzheimers, Christmas card outreach, and conference and small group presentations.<\/p>\n

PGC is a \u201ccommons-based, open organization\u201d (Benkler, 2006) in that its resources are available to anyone without membership requirement or fee.<\/p>\n
