On this day in 1984, Dr. Rae Adams, Assistant Professor of the sociology and social work department<\/a> is asked by 9th President Dr. William Teague to serve as the Director of Gerontology and Social Services Administration<\/a>. Dr. Adams was also asked to start a Center on Aging, later to be renamed as the Pruett Gerontology Center.<\/p>\n
