Congratulations to Dr. Carisse Berryhill and Dr. Matt Garver<\/strong> for being awarded Aging Studies Grants for undergraduate research at Abilene Christian University.\u00a0 This is the first year the Pruett Gerontology Center has offered the Aging Studies Grants.\u00a0 This grant is designed to help ACU faculty across the university engage undergraduate students in research that directly involves and\/or benefits the older population. \u00a0 Click here<\/strong><\/a> to read more about the Aging Studies Grant.<\/p>\n

Dr. Berryhill heads Special Collections at the ACU Library.\u00a0 The title of her project is Pruett Fellows Oral History Project.\u00a0 With this project, students are trained in the primary research skills of oral history and narrative research.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Dr. Garver is Associate Professor in the Kinesiology and Nutrition Department.\u00a0 The title of his project is The \"\"K.N.O.W. Study, Knowledge Not Operationalized, Why?\u00a0 He asks the question is exercise-related knowledge predictive of functional ability and fitness in older adults.\u00a0 With more adults living over 60 years of age, this topic\u00a0 is directly relevant to quality of life.<\/p>\n
