These changes can increase blood pressure and put you at risk for cardiovascular disease.<\/p>\n<p>To promote heart health:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Try exercising by walking or swimming. This will keep you at a healthy weight and lower the risk of heart disease. Aim to exercise at least 2-3 times a week.<\/li>\n<li>It is important to reduce stress because it has an effect on the heart. Try exercising, meditating, or receiving professional help from a doctor or counselor.<\/li>\n<li>Eat foods such as vegetables, whole grains, protein, and fruits. Avoid foods high in fat and sugar.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Sleep provides restoration to your body, which is why it repairs your heart and blood vessels.
