scribbleonpaper Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)
What is a QEP?
1. The QEP is a vehicle by which institutions can increase their overall quality and effectiveness by focusing on one issue that can improve student learning.
2. The QEP is a transformative campus process that is anchored in student learning and enhancing the climate for student learning.
3. The QEP is grounded in the commitment of SACS to increase quality and promote student learning.
Relationship to Strategic Planning & Improvement
1. The development of the QEP should not be an isolated process.
2. The QEP should be based upon research and best practices.
3. The QEP should be derived from the on-going and integrated institution-wide planning process.
4. The QEP should have improvement and increased student learning as its “book ends.”
5. There has to be a belief that you can enhance the quality of experiences for students.
6. The intent is not to be broad but very focused and intentional.
7. You cannot solve all of your institutional problems through a QEP.
8. You can identify other areas needing improvement.
9. The process can increase faculty and staff morale and marshal the campus in a positive direction.
