The Shinnery Review will begin accepting submissions for the 2023 – 2024 issue on October 11th!
Send us your original poetry, short stories, creative nonfiction pieces, photography, or artwork.
We accept submissions from all ACU undergraduates from all majors. Chosen submissions will be featured in the 2024 issue of the magazine, which will be released at the Black Tulip event in April. Authors whose work is published will be invited to read from their work at the Black Tulip. To see past year’s magazines, visit our Past Issues page.
Deadline: March 1st, 2024 at 5 pm
How to Submit:
Please send all submissions to theshinneryreview@gmail.com. Include your name and contact information in the body of the e-mail, but leave all contact information off of the submission document itself (no names; the evaluation process is anonymous). We will let you know if your work is accepted to the magazine by mid-to-late March.
– For all written work: please send it as an attachment in .pdf or .docx format. If you are submitting multiple poems or pieces, please send each as a separate document. For prose pieces, please specify whether it is fiction or nonfiction.
–For all photography and artwork: please send them as an attachment in .jpg or .pdf format. If you are submitting multiple pieces, please send each as a separate attachment. (tip: we love creative titles, especially for artwork and photographs!)
-For all digital films/audio recordings: please send them as an attachment in the video format you’ve exported the piece in. If you have uploaded the video to YouTube or Vimeo, you can send us a link to the online content for submission purposes; if your video is accepted, however, we would like the actual file submitted to us to embed in the final posting to the blog.
