\"\"Andrew Carnegie once said, “Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The team behind all the courses and department activities for the School of Information Technology and Computing strives to attain these uncommon results that reflect a vision of excellence. In order to reach this goal, the department is always seeking professionals whose vision aligns with theirs and who can provide students with additional enriching resources. This fall, Dr. Solofoarisina Arisoa Randrianasolo (’08) will join the SITC team as they work to guide students in their journey to success.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Solofoarisina Arisoa Randrianasolo was born in Madagascar, an island in the Indian ocean, and goes by Dr. Arisoa (pronounced \u201cArsu\u201d). His early education started in his home country from k-12 and a year spent at the national university studying math and agri-business. In 2004, he traveled to the United States to pursue a degree in computer science with a minor in math at Abilene Christian University. Dr. Arisoa graduated in 2008 with a B.S. in Computer Science, but this was only the beginning of his academic career. His passion for the field drove him to earn a Master of Science in Computer Science in 2010 and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Texas Tech University in 2012 where he specialized in artificial intelligence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After graduation, Dr. Arisoa saw the opportunity to use his knowledge and expertise in Computer Science to further the education of many. He joined Lipscomb University in 2012 as a professor for undergraduate and graduate students, where he taught for seven years. During three of these, he served as a department chair before transferring to Oklahoma Christian University. At OCU, he taught data science, game development and software engineering while working on getting the Computer Science program accredited. With his extensive experience in Christian education, Dr. Arisoa says that he is most excited about, \u201cBeing back home at ACU. I am also excited about studying and implementing algorithms with my students.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"The newest addition to the team is not only experienced in his field, but also enjoys solving computer science problems that are math-oriented. However, his interests expand beyond his field. Dr. Arisoa is married to Rebecca and has a 19 month-old boy who he loves to spend time with. He enjoys soccer as well as playing his guitar and electronic keyboard. You can probably catch him speaking a different language too, since he is fluent in Malagasy (the official language in Madagascar), French, English, and can speak German with limited ability.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Arisoa is eager to begin making contributions to the SITC team, \u201cAs an ACU graduate, I am eager to contribute to the mission of providing a Christ-centered, excellent, outstanding, and innovative education program for the 21st-century.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
