We will participate in\u00a0Preservation Week 2019<\/a>\u00a0by hosting three preservation-themed webinars in the Special Collections and Archives reading room on the lower level of the ACU Brown Library from 1-2 pm on April 23, 25, and 26.<\/p>\n

The one-hour webinars will focus on very practical strategies anyone can employ to preserve their family history.\u00a0 At each webinar we will feature three different recipes from the archives, primarily drawing on the 1974\u00a0Women of ACC Cookbook.\u00a0<\/em>If you\u2019re in Abilene please come join us, and if you can\u2019t make it in person we\u2019ll share links so you can watch the webinars online.\u00a0 We will also share the recipes and some additional historical context about their authors. Below are the first three recipes we\u2019re trying out\u2013 stay tuned for more!<\/p>\n

Mama's Cream of Tartar Candy\r\n<\/strong>From the kitchen of Mrs. Loreta Kelley<\/span><\/pre>\n
Mrs. Loreta Kelley<\/a> worked in the Home Economics department and served many different ways around campus, including as a sponsor for\u00a0W\u00a0<\/em>Club as seen in the photograph below. She retired in 1985 and continued involvement at the university and at her church, University Church of Christ.<\/p>\n

Lazelle May Rose\u00a0<\/a>attended Abilene Christian College beginning in 1936 and went on to recieve a Masters Degree from ACC in 1956.<\/p>\n
